This performance is a celebration of the house that houses RhizomeDC. Practically speaking, it knits together a multidisciplinary cohort of artists for a durational, site-specific performance in collaboration with the architecture of the art-space/house. Poetically speaking, it is an ode to impermanence. Yes it is about this specific place and this specific time, but it is also the impermanence of spaces, the impermanence of bodies, the impermanence of our bodies within spaces….nothing lasts…and yet traces are left behind. Memories, marks, ghosts.
this performance asks you to move, but this performance will offer you a chair. this performance will not wait for you but will save you a plate. this performance happens upstairs and downstairs but your experience does not need to involve stairs to be the experience. this performance is for grown-ups but this performance welcomes kids. This performance lasts 6 hours. Entry is available every 30 minutes. Come and go as you like. Stay for the whole time or just breeze through. Go have lunch and come back. Watch through the window. Take a nap in the yard. Shift your perspective. There is no right way to experience it and there is no way to experience it all.
